With 27+ years in oil and gas, and certifications in ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 and still grrinding the jig! Today, we offer expert guidance for management system implementation, auditing, and training. The journey has not been smooth all the way, expectedly there have been ups and down, low and high tide in my career ladder climb. I started as a afety Officer in 1992 and peaked as a Senior Manager by 2019. Then it happened. I lost my job just as COVID was knocking on the door in the year 2000. I decided to take the bull by the horns and full body heads on by going solo. I decided that I wasnt working anymore for anyone.
What helped me to survive from thereon? Accidental preparation by achieving professional certification and pilling up certificates as if there is no tomorrow. I did not wait for my employer to train me. Isought for knowledge wherever I could find it. Today, such knowledge are much more readily avaialble to young professionals more than it was back then, but are you tapping in? what happens if you are suddenly thrown into the laour market? can you survie the trauma? Be preemtive of your future. You never can tell.
Primergreen Limited was registered in Janaury 2012 to oil my ambition of running a business as a consultant. I have worked the grind ever then to house myself and put food on the table. We are not yet there but we have hope that we are going to get better each year. Much have been achieved through collaboration with other professionals in similar field of practice. We refer each other when opportuntiies come up, never selfish and self seeking but spreading a word of hope and support ina disencanted economic climate. How could we have survived if not for those of you guys out there who call me up form time to time wen there is an opportunity. Much of my success has been form such referals. A big ‘thank you” to all the pals that have shown up for me. You did it not because I am the best in the field but because of the feeling of shared humanity and because you know you can count on me to deliver on any project.
My advice to those I mentor is that you should learn to treat every person you meet on your career journey because you never can tell when they will become the bridge you need to cross over the sea of misfortune.
